Saying their first goodbyes to their buddies and change of “home” for some days

Partner Schools Worldwide > Weydon School and Ayensudo Islamic JHS > Saying their first goodbyes to their buddies and change of “home” for some days

Wednesday 31st July

Day 11

We had to wake up way too early to dismantle our homes (mosquito tents) and do some rapid packing. After Faye cried herself to sleep because she couldn’t see Steven again, Max and Amber broke their homes so we had to set new ones up for them last night before taking them down this morning. Max had to set up his home twice because he broke the first one one he tried to set up. Then we swept and tidied our areas before having some eggy bread for breakfast. After tidying some more we deconstructed the gazebos and the kitchen. We lugged our bags to the thick orange truck before saying our first round of goodbyes to our buddies. Then we went and said goodbye to the chief (who should replace Borris) and hopped onto the truck. Until we realised the bus for the kitchen hadn’t arrived yet. After a very long, very awkward 10 minute wait we waved our final goodbyes. But don’t worry, Amber had contact details of two boys in her bra. 20 minutes later we stumbled in to Stumble Inn which is nice and beachy. Some of us cleansed our souls with working showers. Not to mention Millie and Max’s singing in the showers despite other residents. The girls room has 5 bunk beds and the boys room is the same size but has 2 bunk beds and one normal bed. We then sat on the rock sea wall relaxing and sewing (cheers Max). We did absolutely nothing productive after we got to Stumble Inn. Prime example, at dinner Max was picking up air instead of chips and putting them on his plate. In the words of- Fran it was “the funniest day “.
