Hello friends and family! We have all had another amazing day in Ayensudo. After waking up we were met with a great breakfast of pancakes and some of the best pineapple I have ever had. With our stomachs full, we began to paint the school. We saw a lot of progress today, as we finished all of the windows. Next, we had a great lunch, which consisted of “wakye”, a Ghanaian noodle dish, and grilled fish. Following lunch, we headed the older children’s classrooms where we learned to do traditional Ghanaian dances, and how to play the “jimbey”, a Ghanaian drum. Although we all struggled through the process, we all had so much fun learning about the culture here. Next, we went to the schools football (soccer) field to play a 7v7 match with some of the Ghanaian teenagers. Although my team lost and I quickly became drenched in sweat, it was some of
the most fun I have ever had while playing the sport. After football, we walked back to have a delicious dinner of spring rolls and mashed yams. Following dinner, we all sat together under the stars laughing and telling each other stories about our day. It was another fantastic day in Ayensudo, and we can’t wait to see what is in store for tomorrow.
