DAY 1 and 2: Monday, 23 July 2018
Today has been an eventful day after successfully passing through security and scouting about the airport in and out shops. Many of us were extremely exited and full of energy on the coach to Heathrow! Once boarding the plane, we all took our seats on the flight to Dubai and became very enthusiastic about the range of movie choices! We had blankets, pillows and most importantly food, so we were very happy! Once the plane landed in Dubai we got the chance to look around the futuristic airport and most of us had a nap in McDonalds. We then boarded our next flight to Accra where by this time we were all exhausted, but we slept through it and eventually we arrived in a humid yet uplifting airport! After racing through security we grabbed our bags and met our tour guides before taking 2 minibuses to our guest house. We then had lunch and afterwards went to Trashy Bags, which is a company that reuses wasted plastic (mainly from our water bags) and material cutoffs to make them into bags and laptop covers etc. Finally, when we arrived back at the guest house we had some delicious chicken and chips for dinner! We are really looking forward to going to Ayensudo tomorrow and meeting our buddies, Night 🙂
