Sports competition between Ghana and England

Partner Schools Worldwide > Reading Blue Coat and Ankwanda JHS > Sports competition between Ghana and England

Day 15-17th July 2018
Today was the long awaited match between RBCS and Ankwanda. The pitch condition was questionable but the talent of Blue Coat was not with a final score of 3-0. Peter Crouch (Will) scored a header from a corner and Steven Gerrard (James) scored a brace including one goal off his chest. The team worked well together with the man of the match being the captain Gordon Banks (Mr Hartland) for his spectacular one on one saves. RBCS also triumphed in the tug of peace against the buddies but we were defeated in the 50m sprint races. Earlier in the morning we had the kindergarten sports day. 40 pupils were split into 4 teams and they competed in events such as the lime and spoon race, coconut throw, long jump, a 30m dash and even musical chairs. The blue team were the clear winners and the kids went back to school happy and tired. However many of the RBCS contingent were suffering after an hour of football making the afternoon’s task of commencing the site’s clean up a daunting one. As a reward for the hard work today we are spending tomorrow at the beach and everyone is ready for a day of relaxation.
