Day 4

We started off the day being woken up by the goats and cockerel, which followed with a traditional Ghanaian omelette, whilst discussing our plans for the day.

After breakfast, the whole team paid a visit to the kindergarten graduation where we all enjoyed watching the young children show us some traditional Ghanaian dances. Afterwards, we had a not so traditional lunch of spaghetti Bolognese! Yummers!

Once lunch had ended, we all chatted and socialized with the children for a bit, before immersing ourselves in our project work. Different members of the team contributed to different parts of project work: sorting out donations; designing the mural; constructing shelves and painting the trainee teachers building. Luckily the sun stayed behind the clouds so we weren’t too hot!

After rest from several hours of work, we all took turn in the shower to scrub off the splattered paint and relaxed for a little while. After dinner, which was plantain and beans, we all entertained ourselves by exchanging songs and stories around the campfire, which even the Ayensudo Chief took part in!

Finally, we got ready for bed and fell asleep to the sound of chirping birds and insects. :/
