Day 3
Last night was a good night with no ANTics, we managed to get to sleep pretty well. For breakfast we had some delicious eggy bread and beans, it was well prepared by Augustina (The chef). After breakfast we were quick to get into our finest clothing for the church.

The church in Ghana was very different than church in England, everyone one was so happy and together unlike the silent and slightly boring English church. We danced and sang but then we were asked to come up and sing, since none of us knew any songs, it was very hard until someone suggested all things bright and beautiful. We barely got through the chorus, it was very embarrassing but we managed to play it off with a laugh at the end.

Afterwards we went to the beach so we could go and take a paddle in the sea, it was worth it because of how hot it was on that day, it was very refreshing. After a while our buddies came to the beach too so we finally got a chance to give them our partner Ghana t-shirts! After a while we all decided to bury Alec in the sand. Then we bought some delicious chips! We even got a nice refreshing shower after it all. It made us feel slightly clean again but then we all got dirty.. AGAIN!
When we finally got in, it didn’t take long until our dinner was ready, Augistina had prepared for us a lovely beef stew with mashed yam, it was very different to the stew we get at home. Afterwards we relaxed for the night and went to bed early and eager for our big day of starting on the playground tomorrow.
From, Shannon and Katie.

Day 4
Today we awoke and relaxed for a little while. We were treated to a deluxe omlette for breakfast prepared by Augistina (the chef). Once that was done we got ready for the day. We were making a playground for the children in the school in Ayensudo. We set off to the school and began working.

The highlight of the walk up to school was the purchase of a puppy for Ben one of the teachers. He and his wife had said they wanted a puppy as a pet and would be pleased for us to choose one for them. We now have a puppy caring team for the day. A bath was needed for’Adom’ (Grace) as she had a few unwanted visitors. Connie was given the pleasure of choosing the puppy as she really wants one of her own but is still trying to persuade her parents. By coincidence Ben had chosen the name Grace and Connies sister shares the same name.
The wood all had to be carried from the library to the playground area. Very soon lots of the students were there to take over the moving of the wood.

First to be tackled was the see saw. A search was made for a sharpened saw!! Luca proved to be a master saw man with the girls having a good go too. The work is challenging in the heat but one stall at the school sells ice cold bags of water. Heaven!!!!

At breaktime a lot of the buddies came to help with the sawing of the wood. This did make short work of it. Hopefully we will see great progress after today.

Lunch today is a packed lunch at the school with one salad and one nutella sandwich. Freshly picked bananas for afters and of course the ice cold water.
