Day one
With an early start we set off to the Hut de Eric for a yummy brekfast consisting of toast, beans and a sausage egg mixture. Then we got back on the Boonie Bus for a 4 hour bumpy and exiting journey. Everyone stopped to look at us, it is almost like we are famous!
When we arrived at the Esteem bed and breakfast. Our home for the week. We set up our tents and sorted all of our bags into the rooms we were given as teams. Afterwards we decided we should relax and have some Cola which was a really big change from the mass amounts of water and carrying around our bags.
Later in the afternoon we decided to go into the village, Ayensudo to see all the children. We had a surprise when the elders of the village decided to come and welcome us to their village and a few of us finally got to meet our buddies but we weren’t introduced to them officially.
When we got back to our camp we were treated to lovely spaghetti bolognaise for dinner and fresh pineapple for desert. When we had finished with our dinner we decided it was time to relax and play some games, we played twister, it was hilarious. We also had some eventfull ANTics before we finally drifted off to sleep.

Day 2
Today we woke, got ready and we had pancakes for breakfast. We put plenty of suncream on as it was going to be a sunny day. We went on the boonie bus with our music blaring out on our way to the rainforest. At the rainforest we met our buddies. We waited for our guide and made our way up to the canopy. It was very steep with loads of steps to get to the ropeway. We were 40 metres above the forest floor. The views were great and we got lots of brilliant pictures. After this we went in the gift shops and most of us had ice creams. Delicious!!!!
Back on the bus with loud music and plenty of singing. Some of it not so good. We were waving again like celebrities. Next was a market stop. It was very busy as there was a funeral and a wedding going on. Most bought colourful batik cloth to make dresses and shirts. Next we went to the dressmakers to get measured for our outfits. We are looking forward to getting our Ghanaian dresses and shirts for church next week.
Finally the weary group returned to our camp for a well deserved mango juice and chill out before making the beds AGAIN.
We don’t ANTicipate any more visitors tonight.
