Day 9 – Wednesday, 10th July 2019
Today was another busy day which started bright and early haggling at Cape coast market, where we bought resources for the classroom renovation. When then came back for some breakfast, as Tom was starving. Then we set off for the Nsadwir basic school, to finish the last little bits on the project and attend a good health and well-being workshop. The workshop involved putting together a poster with our buddies to explain the risks of different diseases (Eoin and Emmanuel’s was the best). This was a meaningful task as the posters will be used in the school and wider community in order to educate people on physical health. We had red red (plantain, rice and sauce) for dinner while Chloe began the long conquest trying to tackle the cork of the (alcohol free) drink to celebrate her birthday . The surprise birthday cake from Partner Schools Worldwide was great, and there was definitely enough to go round. The classroom is really coming together, with the new tablecloths and puppet theater with curtains, it truly looks like a kindergarten room now. We are excited about handing the room over to the community tomorrow.
