Sport activities and buddies home visit.

Partner Schools Worldwide > Kimbolton School and Essaman United JHS > Sport activities and buddies home visit.

Tuesday 9th July 2019

Today was a really high energy, fun day which everyone got involved in and enjoyed – there were very few lows in reflection! After saying goodbye to our trip mascot, Monica we set off bright and early to Essaman. We were greeted by the as usual excited and enthusiastic children of all ages. Once we got there we started our Sports Day with our buddies. There was a lime and spoon race, a bottle fill, a sack race and a few games of volleyball. As expected, our buddies were extremely well practiced at the events – especially Minty’s buddy, Caroline! After our fast-paced Sports Day we jumped back into the Spice Bus (our transport for the trip) and set off for the local villages where our buddies live. It was an eye-opening experience and the sheer pride on their and their families’ faces is something I will never forget. Overall it was a fantastic day finishing with a match of volleyball on the beach and a quick swim in the sea.
