Day 19: Wednesday 25th July 2018

Student leaders: Daisy O and Lucy M

Today we were woken by the smell of eggy bread (a team favourite). The group were reunited when the boys returned from their swanky hotel to join us to eat breakfast and prepare for the long day of travelling ahead.

We loaded the buses as a team and quietly boarded the big orange bus and braced ourselves for the bumpy ride ahead. Obama revved the engine and so began another of our 4 hour journeys or (as Yaw would say ‘a stone’s throw away’). The buses took their usual formation, with the bug orange bus leading the way and The Great Allah trailing behind.

3 hours into our journey, we arrived at the banana plantation. As usual, struck again and we spent the next hour getting to know the floor very well. Then we ate lunch, consisting of noodles and corned beef with tomato sauce. After lunch, we were greeted by the manager. First, we disinfected our feet to avoid spreading disease that could kill off the whole plantation. We then walked over to plot and listened to a 40-minute lecture about the life cycle of a banana.

We hopped back on the buses to complete our journey to Multi Hotel, where we will be staying the night. Half the group then went to the pool but were deeply disappointed to discover the pool was out of action so headed back to the hotel. We watched Hairspray as a group and had our usual rice and red sauce cooked by our super chefs.

See you in 4 sleeps.
