Drum and dance workshop – Team 2

Day 10 – Sunday 9/04/17
Today was Lea’s birthday so to start the day two group members woke up at 5:30 to blow up balloons and put some in her tent, she woke up as when the balloons landed on she thought they may be the resistant chickens, so sadly we had to abort our mission. Isee however decide to catch a chicken and put it in Lea’s tent. Lea was very shocked and we all enjoyed the expression on her face. The breakfast was pancakes with sugar and Nutella, which was amazing.

After we spilt into groups and worked on completing three different murals and projects, which by 11am we all finished. We then hand an hour to relax. Miss took this opportunity to take a nap and the rest of up played a game of trivial pursuit which was never finished. Throughout the remainder of the day we added ours and our buddies hand prints to the Weydon – Ayensudo Tree mural, began the mission of packing our things and collected all the water for showing and cooking. Later in the afternoon, Rasta kobby and his team of drummers and dancers came to teach us and our buddies some traditional Ghanaian dancing and drumming.

Just as we were preparing to see their drum and dance display out of nowhere the heavens opened and we were hit with an almighty storm. Some of the wonderfully prepared floor was blown off a table on to the floor, the cooks tent was blown apart, washing was swept from the line and some items have not returned and our has fallen apart however, Mr Peters made good use of the rain by taking a shower without wasting water. We then dashed to the canteen where we ate all the remaining food and Lea was surprised by an amazing chocolate cake.

After dinner we runback to our sleeping quarters and announced our star and dip of the day, Ollie and Sir took the star and once again Archie earned dip. We then sat and listen to music and Ollie and Archie entertained us with their dancing, locals also came to join in.
