Church Service and welcome ceremony – Team 3

Partner Schools Worldwide > Weydon and Dwabor JHS > Church Service and welcome ceremony – Team 3

Day 3 – Sunday 2/4/17

Today has been brilliant. We woke up at 5am to the sound of the radio broadcasted on the town loudspeaker, followed by the noisy drumming from the catholic church. Next, we ate breakfast prepared by cooking team; pancakes and fruit. The first activity of the day was our welcome ceremony, where we met Dwabor’s village elders in their palace, followed by a trip to one of Dwabor’s many churches.Alex and Samuel even went on a taxi journey to a neighbouring village to attend one of their church ceremonies. After we came back for our lunch – salad and yam chips, we paired up with our biddies and started a ‘scavenger hunt’. Mrs Warnock and other members of staff gave us a total of 20 challenges such as catching a chicken and fetching water from the well. This activity was great fun but positively exhausting. We spent the rest of our evening relaxing with our buddies and tucking into a plate of ‘Red Red’ a delicious Ghanaian meal consisting of plantain and palm oil. We hope all is well back in the UK, and we look forward to seeing you all when we get back.

A wonderful update Samuel, thank you very much. I didn’t think “5 am “and “brilliant” would ever go together but it must be very special. Keep making fabulous memories, all of you.Lots of love to Henry X
