Nottingham Emmanuel School – last day in Ghana

Partner Schools Worldwide > Nottingham Emmanuel and Dutch Komenda > Nottingham Emmanuel School – last day in Ghana

Thursday 14th July 2016
In the morning we woke up bright and early to add the final touches of the projects which we later handed over to the school. As the hurry to finish the projects slowly came to a chill stop, our Ghanaian dresses arrived for us; after a little photoshoot we sat and ate a buffet with our favourite Ghanaian dishes alongside our buddies. Soon the rain came pouring down making us dash for the tents for our leaving ceremony filled with song and dance (conducted by Oran and Sir Philip). Packing our bags ready to go the next morning we gathered to have our last family time to share the best experiences we have had over the past 10 days, followed by a talent show with Liv and Oran hosting the array of dancing, singing and comedy acts we had. Finally, we enjoyed one last sleep in our tents under the stars which seemed to silently twinkle a gentle goodbye as we closed our eyes.

Friday 15th July 2016
A loud awakening from Mr Skinner rose us up to the last hours in Ghana, clearing our camp of our sandy tents we did last minute packing whilst donating some of our clothes to our friends and those in the local community. Sitting to eat our final breakfast of vegetable omelet we gathered our thoughts as well as our belongings.
