Glyn School – Welcome to Ghana

Day 1
We had to wake up super early to catch our flight. We travelled all day, arriving at 6pm. We collected our luggage (no ones got lost). We have a big orange truck in which we will be travelling in for the majority of the 3 weeks. We arrived at the hostel which we shared rooms apart from Georgie and Ellis. We had some jollof rice at the hostel which everyone found quite spicy. We watched a dodgy Ghanaian TV show. We then had a brief meeting before we went to get some sleep.
Day 2
Today we woke at 6:30 gathered our things and departed for Cape Coast. We stopped at a place called Trashy bags which is charity which turns waste plastic bags into fashion ranging from wallets to washbags. At 1:30 we arrived at our second hostel in Cape Coast, unpacked and ate some lunch before exploring the local town. The streets were packed with people dancing to traditional music on load speakers. We continued making our way through the sea of people to the harbour where we watched a fishing festival. Men and women sang and danced while on their boats and fireworks were going off. We had a cool drink while watching a parade march through town. When we arrived back at the bus there were two goats resting underneath. Once we cleared them we return to hotel and had dinner. What a day!!!
