This morning we had to wake up a 5am so we could get to the fish market in Hambantota where we saw miscellaneous fish. We were all a bit drowsy on the coach but once we got a whiff of fish it was clear sleep would be impossible. When we got back, we watched our hosts cook us rotties for breakfast which are like coconut flavoured naam bread/ pancake.
We then got ready to go back to the pre school where we had a ready session with them and sang songs and played games. Around the lunch time we got the luxury that is free time and spent some of it putting together our board of hand and footprint animals for the pre school.
Afterwards, we hopped in the coach, picked up our buddies and went to the orphanage again. This time, whilst the rest of us played cricket, some of the girls started to paint one of our projects, which was a tree which we all added our handprints to. We said our goodbyes and set off home.
For dinner we had hoppers which were very tasty and also a bit like pancakes. Tonight, we have all decided to sleep outside in mosquito tents. We all had to take part in the task of putting up our camp beds and tents which seemed to be a bit more challenging than it needed to be.
We are about to make a camp fire and get into our tents. All of us are excited to see how this night rolls out and if we will get any sleep at all.
