DAY 7: Thursday, 22 October 2015

We awoke at 6am to get ready for a breakfast of porridge at 6:30am. For the second time on this trip we walk along the beautiful beach and through the village to get to Bantuma. The village smelt overwhelming fishy and we got to school sweaty, but ready to start a productive work.
We immediately got started, splitting into 2 groups painting the murals and stencilling ‘BANT – SWPS PARTNERSHIP 2015’ onto the desk. We worked through the day being careful not too get burnt by the hot African sun. Lunch came at 12:15 and we scoffed it down eagerly.
After lunch was the bead making workshop that we did with our buddies. The lady in-charge taught us how to make earrings, necklace, and the most popular anklets. The little Bantuma kids were at the windows the whole time asking us to make them something. Whiles we were packing up, all of them ran in and rushed to pick up the beads we had drop so they could make their own bracelets with the little pieces of string that they had found. We then drove back to Stumble Inn in the Orange Mega-Army truck ready to get straight in the shower.
It was still early and we had time to relax, played on the beach and watch the sunset. We also had a SWPS versus Stumble Inn volley ball match where our natural ‘talents’ was put into practice and lost tragically. After eating, each room did their assigned chores and settle into bed. Looking forward to the sports day that was to occur tomorrow.
