DAY 3 – MONDAY, 22ND JUNE 2015
On Monday we went to an opening ceremony held by the community and the elders. They sung traditional songs and prayed. It was important because it was welcoming us into the community officially and promising our safety. We tried the local sugar cane, which was really sweet. We had never tried it before. We had lunch and afterwards we looked around at the work we had to do, such as painting the library. We also spoke to some of the children at the school, including our pen – pals. We had rice with Beef Sauce for dinner and it was nice to try the local food.

DAY 4 – TUESDAY, 23RD JUNE 2015
Today we began our project work. After an early start and some breakfast, we began painting on the library and the first of our two classrooms we were painting. We started by painting the walls in a cream emulsion in the morning, and later we painted a second layer. After lunch, we returned to our duties and painted the wooden beams and shutters in oil. Once finished, we had our dinner and sat down with our buddies. We sung various songs and demonstrated various talents before going to bed.
DAY 5 – WEDNESDAY, 24TH JUNE 2015

Today we went to Kakum National Park to do the canopy walk. It was quiet scary, but we all managed to get the 40meters high. Once we got back down we went to see some crocodiles. Some of us even got to touch one. After that, we got back in time for some yam with Vegetable Sauce. Then we all went to sleep, because we were all exhausted from a long day.
