The night before the rainforest canopy walk, Ghana stopped as it rained. If it kept raining throughout the night, we wouldn’t have been able to go on the canopy walk. Everyone wanted to go on the canopy walk so to hear the news that we might not have been able to go was very disappointing so we just had to hope and see that the rain would stop.

In the morning, the verdict arrived….. WE WERE GOING TO THE RAINFOREST !!!

After a nice, long sleep, we were refreshed and ready to go for the long day ahead. We went to the food hall and had gorgeous banana pancakes and refreshing cold water. After breakfast we set off on our ten minute walk to the church. We arrived at the church at 8:30 and left church at 11:45. Church was really loud with singing and dancing all the way through the service.

We walked back to the food hall and had plantain and beans. Personally I loved it however some people didn’t like it. Whilst having our lunch, we had a surprise visit by our buddies – they came to have lunch with us. After lunch we had a 30 minute bus ride either on an old army truck or a school bus. I went on the school bus. First we had to drive to the rainforest however the roads are really bumpy with lots of pot holes everywhere. Finally we arrived at the rainforest !!!

When we were driving into the rainforest parking complex, there was sign showing different animals that could be found in the rainforest. You could find elephants, monkeys, insects, birds and many, many more. The walk started by our tour guide talking to us about the history of the rainforest. After the talk, was when the real walk begun…..

There were several into connecting bridges tied to the top of the trees which were 40 meters tall. No-one was too scared to go on the 40 meter bridge so at the end of the walk, everyone was proud of themselves. (Mrs Oddie did have a little wobble but we’re allowed to say

We drove back from the rainforest and indulged into our tea… Rice and sauce. Normally after our tea we play games but tonight everyone was so tired, we didn’t even play any games and we went straight to bed. Tomorrow will be a very long day as we are painting classrooms………………..again!!!

By for now and we will in touch very soon!
