Day 6 – 7

Day 6

We are enjoying the experience and we particularly enjoy the attention of the children. Usually everyone of us has a young child on each finger. They motivate us to keep working through the heat, at times it is difficult. Today some of us led a science class, this included teaching the students how to use the microscopes we brought gifts. The rest of us continued to paint murals on the walls of the school.

Yesterday’s drumming and dancing was interesting. We discovered it takes a lot of skill and confidence. After this those who had the energy decided to have a game of football and came up with the conclusion that the Ghanaians were all much better.
We are all missing home, but really enjoying the trip. See you in 4 days.
Love Daisy, Almie and Jen.

Day 7
Today is our final day of project work and in our opinion the library looks fantastic! We have been adding the final details to the murals, and Isaac has expressed a worrying interest in the acquisition of a machete….. we’re all rather worried, for his sake and ours.
Ever eager to dive into the festivities, we are bringing Halloween to Ghana! Tonight, we will be carving watermelons (pumpkins are somewhat hard to come by) playing games and enjoying in a fierce twister tournament!

For a week now we have been promised rain, but so far it’s been nothing but sun, sweat and a surprising number of water bags. Naturally, shower days are ‘hotly’ anticipated.
We are all looking forward to seeing you all, especially if you bring food…. overall we’re loving the Ghanaian food.

Joe, Nianh and Jess.
