Tuesday 20th August
Today we had a generous lie in of 7:30; because all projects are finally finished meaning that we could relax and pack our things ready for tomorrow, when we leave for Lake Volta. In order to make the most of our last full day in Dwabor we spent the morning relaxing and spending time with all our buddies and all the friends made. Later we handed over all the projects to the community, where the elders saw the final projects of both the KG mural and the chiefs palace – they were all unbelievably thankful and really appreciated our work.
After we had our good old lunch of tuna and cheese sandwiches we began tidying and packing the room ready to set off in the morning. After we had the ‘BUDDY BUFFET’ the food was mouth-wateringly tasty – thanks to the wonderful Augustina, everyone loved the food, and loved spending more time with their buddies. In the evening our buddies came up to the KG for our last bonfire in Dwabor, we spent the time chatting, general playing/bonding and exchanging phone numbers, facebooks and emails in order for us all to stay in contact. As our last night came to an end we said a second to last bye bye to all our friends – already there were tears, and these were just a small taster of the water works to come in the morning!
Our time in Dwabor is now over, and now we are onto the last stay of our trip Lake Volta!
