After awakening early to pack up and clear away we loaded our bags onto the trucks and said our goodbyes to Karu, Athula and the foundation building. We drove away heading to the Virgin Tea plantation near Galle for a colonial tea and tour of the plantation including tea tasting – very interesting! A very quick trip to the old colonial forted town for some final retail therapy before heading to the airport north of Colombo. With heavy hearts to leave but excitement to share our experiences with families and friends we survived the short hop flights to Mumbai and the seemingly never ending flight to Heathrow T4. Sadly Debi’s bag seems to have elected to stop off somewhere en route but after a group hug we were met by banners and excited families and left to sleep, shower and reflect on an amazing trip
