An excursion to Kakum rain forest and beach relaxation with our Ghanaian friends

Partner Schools Worldwide > Lord Wandsworth and Egyeikrom > An excursion to Kakum rain forest and beach relaxation with our Ghanaian friends

Today we started the day off with toast and some scrambled egg. Then moved on to the minibuses for two hours with our buddies (had to stop a few times due to some buddies hitting travel sickness?). We eventually got to the canopy walk where we had to hike through the jungle, having to stop every 5 minutes to rest. We learnt that a fragrance of a certain tree makes you ‘Want to have sex with your sister!!??’. We got to the canopy walk where safety regulations are a bit different to the UK’s? to the point where our guide said 7 people to a bridge which changed into 20! but the view was worth it. We then ventured through a cocoa farm to learn how the plants germinate and we sucked on the seeds which were suprisingily nice. The crocodile farm was next, they took a while to come out but when they did we got a close look at them as apparently it’s still safe to be 3 metres from a crocodile with no barrier in-between. We ended the day bonding with our buddies on the beach playing games, swimming and befriending the locals. Lovely end to a lovely day!! See you all very soon? lots of love Zoe (Jamie and Hogan were meant to be helping me with the blog but were too busy beatboxing) xxxx
