Kimbolton receive a warm welcome in Essaman United school.

Partner Schools Worldwide > Uncategorized > Kimbolton receive a warm welcome in Essaman United school.

Monday 8th July

We left for Essaman United at 8am and met our buddies there for the welcome ceremony after being shown around the school. The students put on an amazing and colourful display including a cadet performance, cultural dancing and singing. My highlight was the story dance where two of the boys tried to win over a girl with gifts of flip flops and money – they were so theatrical and enthusiastic and it was so entertaining. After the welcome ceremony we had a health and well-being workshop with some of the school staff, where we did a quiz, interviewed some of the children about healthy habits and made posters about different illnesses. It was a great bonding experience with our buddies and the whole day was an amazing opportunity to see the school and meet all the children. The only downside was the toilets – Minty managed to pee on my foot! When we got back to Stumble Inn we had dinner and then walked down the beach to the hotel to watch the football and relax by the sea. Overall I think it was a productive and enjoyable day, and I’m really excited to start the playground project in the next couple of days.
