A visit to the Elmina Slave Dungeons and relaxation on the beach

Partner Schools Worldwide > Martin Cedars High School and Nsadwer Basic School > A visit to the Elmina Slave Dungeons and relaxation on the beach

Day 6-Sunday, 7th July 2019

. Today we woke up to the sounds of Ghana local radio. We had scrambled eggs and bread for breakfast before heading off to church around 9AM. Church was very busy, loud and interesting however the service was difficult to understand and participate as it was spoken in Fante. We then went back to the guesthouse to change our clothes. After that we went to Elmina castle and learnt about the slave process beginning with the Portuguese then taken over the Dutch before the castle was bought by Britain. We then had Ghanaian spring rolls which were exceptional, credit to Mercy. After this we went to the beach where we played lots of games, collected shells, dug holes and took lots of photos. We all annoyed Chloe by taking her glasses, while our buddies playfully hid our stuff on the bus. For dinner we had pasta and a tomato based sauce before we begin our game of donkey. Life is good here in Ghana.

Thomas and Sam.
