WEY T1 Discovering Kakum National Park

Partner Schools Worldwide > Weydon and Dwabor JHS > WEY T1 Discovering Kakum National Park

Day 7: 13th April 19

In the morning, we all woke up at about 5:30 to prepare to go to the rainforest. The coach left at 8:30 to arrive there at about 11:30. When we got there, we were pleasantly surprised by seated toilets. We started our rainforest expedition at 11:45 and we did a 15 minute walk including a canopy walk which was very high up with a maximum height of 60m. The view was incredible. After our walk, we sat down to have lunch which was spaghetti and boiled egg. On our way to the beach, we stopped off at a crocodile and bird watching centre. We saw a huge crocodile eat and we saw a grey heron. After the crocodile centre, we attempted to finish our journey to the beach however half way through, the large orange bus broke down meaning that the second bus had to do two trips. After finally arriving at the beach, almost everyone went in the water and some stayed for volleyball or chips and drinks. After much relaxing and playing, we decided to head back to Dwabor to have curry and rice for dinner with a bonfire afterwards with lots of dancing and drumming. Having a good time.
