WEY T1 working hard

Day 6 – 12th April 19

April 19 This morning, morals were very high. After pancakes for breakfast, we split into 3 teams. We rotated so we all took part in painting the ITC room, adding to the football net and colouring in some fabric bags with our buddies. For lunch we had delicious sandwiches ( beef or cheese) prepared by our cooking team and cooks. After lunch, we split into 3 groups again with the options of paining, adding to the football net or washing our dirty and smelly clothes the African way. By the end of the project work for today, we finished the main painting work on the building which means that the only part left to do on the building is the murals. One of our team members ( Mixtli ) made a Mexican dinner of tortillas, black beans, chicken, guacamole and chili sauce which we enjoyed with our buddies in a large friendly circle. Towards the end of the day everyone was feeling a little worn out and tired however we managed to all come together and enjoy the evening. Thanks to all the parents that wrote back and left little notes in our bags. It touched the hearts of those who found them. Goodnight

-Katie
