This morning we went back to the school, and did lots of activities with our buddies, including a traditional Sri Lankan dance that was extremely complicated but great fun. Then, in the afternoon we visited the children in the orphanage. This became one of the favourite places for our group. The children and teenagers were extremely sweet; They welcomed us with open arms and were so happy to be with us, we played games, sang and danced with them. Giving the donations we had bought for their home. They were so grateful for everything. It was a humbling experience, which like so many things on this trip make us all realise how lucky we are. Many of the older children had lost everyone and everything in the 2004 tsunami, the younger ones were sick, or abandoned because their family could not afford to keep them, some had been abused and yet they were all so cheerful. It was really difficult to leave them as this was the only time that was scheduled to visit the orphanage.
