Elmina castle and town tour with Ghanaian budies

Partner Schools Worldwide > Crofton School and Pershie Jira Akyinim JHS > Elmina castle and town tour with Ghanaian budies

Day three -22nd July 2018
Today we started off with a very early start where we were greeted by the amazing heat! We then proceeded to eat our delicious breakfast, pancake’s, which we all finished. Even though we were slightly late to church we made our way on several taxis which were like a ride at Alton Towers! As we arrived at church we were greeted by loud gospel songs. We then met up with our buddies and we went to a fishing town nearby called Elmina. Elmina was a lively market place filled with culture but as we were introduced to Elmina castle we learned about its dark past. Lastly, we headed to Pershie where we were able to be introduced to our buddies daily lives by visiting their households and also their families we then sadly said our goodbye’s to our buddies and the children of the village who seemed to be fascinated with us. Overall, we had a lovely time today and we are looking forward to the days ahead!
