Peer teaching, buddy home visit

Day 5: Today we were all woken by the school and kindergarten children coming in at roughly 5:30am, some of us fell back asleep however most of us got up and prepared for our day or had a shower. We all changed and we were called for breakfast. We had pancakes with a variety of sauces and coffees and hot chocolates. After having breakfast we were split into two different groups and told that half of us were to be teaching in the morning and the other half were going to be sanding down the playground and then painting it in vibrant colors. Some of us taught Maths others taught physics, Matt and Sam first taught frequency to children of the age 9 – 12, they were teaching them how to find totals from a table and biggest occurring number ( model), they then taught 14 – 16 years old’s multiplying and adding fractions. When we had lunch, rice and some sort of delicious bean sauce was very tasty with a good lick of chili at the end – Just as it passed into your throat. After lunch we had another meeting explaining what was expected of us and what we were planning to do in the afternoon, we went on a huge walk all round Ayensudo visiting and delivering buddies’ gifts, all the families were very grateful for the gifts we gave. When we got home after the two hour excursion we all sat down and planned for sports day (which is tomorrow). Star of the day was; Archie Bridge. We hope everything is okay at home and we all loving it.

Great post Matt, and some great pics on FB of you all painting the playground and teaching lessons. Tell Oscar that George says he made that playground 3 years ago!
