Day 3:
Three days was very interesting. It finally sink in that we were in Ghana, with an early start all the team got to work straight away. Whether that be cooking, cleaning or sorting days event- At 5am we were rudely awoken by Miss Donia wrongly assuming it was 6am but after interference from Mrs Bibbs, we were allowed a blissfull extra hour of lying in. After we slowly got out of our tent most of us hard a shower which needed with some of us using up half the day’s water supply which was very clever. After the delicious breakfast of pancakes with nutella we went to church to experience an Ghanaian service. It was very loud. Then we went on scavenger hunt with our buddies. We got to explore Ayensudo a bit more and all it local culture. The winners with a whopping 22 points were Sam, Archie and their buddies who got the best prize imaginably…..ice cream! Lunch was chicken and chips which was decent and then commenced the football match although the rains came down in a basket, it was enjoyable to watch and dance with the young locals. Then we sorted out the project the project we were to do in the classrooms and presented them to the Paddy. He thought they were great! Finally the dinner which was rice and something!even though we did not know what it was everyone finished their plates all / bowls. After all work and food was done, we announced the first stars and donkey of the day. Bethany won the star award as she seems to have everything that everyone needed, while Thisbe got the donkeys award for being led to believe Spaghetti grow on trees. Now we are sitting by a bonfire to chill and look on to the days ahead….
