Day 3: 22/07/17
Today we woke up at 7 to torrential rain. We went to breakfast at 8 to find out our excursion had been delayed due the rains. This meant we sat and had to brainstorm some activities to with our buddies. When they arrived at 9:30 we started to make brackets and key rings with them. They enjoyed making them as much as we did. At 12:30 we sat and ate pasta for our lunch with our buddies. We then got told the news that our excursion was back on so we boarded the bus at 1:30 to head over to the Kakum Rainforest. It was a very loud and fun journey as we didn’t stop singing and chatting the whole way there. We went to the rainforest to experience the 7 rope bridges like the one you see on I’m a celebrity Get Me Out of Here, Danny was supporting a Kiosk Keati look at this point. We then boarded the bus to the Cocoa farm down the dirt track. Here we learnt how Cocoa is grown and how much they get paid for their crop, we found out they make around £900 a year for their hard graft, this was a shock for us as we think they deserve more for their hard work. Lastly, we boarded the bus back to the camp to enjoy tea which was a spicy beef stew and rice with very gorgeous sweet pineapple to finish.
