Day 1- From Heathrow we had our first plane journey to Dubai Airport. It was 7 hours long so we all felt very tired when we finally arrived, although luckily the flight was comfortable and we had lots of food and films to keep our eyes open.
We had a few hours at Dubai Airport before boarding our flight to Accra. Everyone was very tired on this flight after not having a proper sleep for so long so most people took the opportunity to try and get some rest.
Finally we arrived in Accra, after 24 hours of traveling! As we stepped off the plane it was a great feeling to be outside after so long. It was super humid yet at the same time nice and hot.
The airport was very cold and we spent a while getting all the bags and talking to the people of Ghana who were friendly. Getting the bus to our hostel was so fun because and it allowed us to take in all the sights along the way and listen to music together.
After some lunch (2nd one of the day as we got one on the plane too), we went to see the trashy bags company where they take the rubbish off the streets and make it into bags and purses. This was really interesting and we got a chance to buy some of the things they make to bring home to our family and friends.
After dinner we were all very tired again so we had a good sleep in an actual bed. We are very much looking forward to the adventure and work ahead.
