What a long day! Met Mr Brown and our special birthday man, Mr Bundy  around 5.30am and packed ourselves into two minibuses to head off to the airport. Very little time was spent in Heathrow before we boarded our long flight to Mumbai. Quite a lot of sleeping, by Christian particularly and watching films continued for nine hours before we landed at the beautiful Mumbai airport. After a minor hiccup when Tom lost his boarding card and Smita saved the day with her new best friend Manish we bundled onto a smaller plane for the final two hour airborne stint. Very efficiently met our MEF guide and bus and many slept their way though the suburbs of Colombo to MEF for a well earned breakfast.
We feel like we have been away for days already! We are now surrounded by majestic elephants ; we have cleaned their night beds removing sharp and smelly objects, washed their skin in the river and had our first lesson of Sinhala. All looking forward to a well deserved rest after a bit of retail therapy in the small shop at the foundation!
Lots of love to all, Team Sri Lanka x
