Hi everyone it’s Hatty!!

Another evening of thunder and lightening has concluded our visit here at MEF. We started off the day with yoga at 7, which was amusingly interrupted by the dogs. Then we had a quick turn around for our incredible, tropical elephant walk which was (very) hot. We experienced the Sri Lankan culture in a way that we haven’t seen before and had the opportunity to take some great team photos that you will hopefully get to see once the wifi issue has been sorted.
After another delicious breakfast of fresh pineapple and sausage sandwiches, we headed to the elephant dung paper factory. It was fascinating to watch the process of how they make the paper and observing some Sri Lankans working was a real eye opener. After that, we had a quick trip to the gift shop and were in awe of how talented the workers are (and at the great value!). When we arrived back at MEF we had a Tuk Tuk ride around the complex which was great fun. That was followed by lunch and some free time where we had a chance to relax and film/take photos for our film project which will be available to watch soon. We concluded our day of activities with a competitive games session where we played lime and spoon races, pin the elephant eye, tug of war and many more. As prizes we were kindly gifted with notebooks from the factory. Finally, we had a quick look at a litter of puppies then went to a quiz night as a goodbye.

The next blog will be from Janoda, we hope you all had a lovely weekend because we definitely did!
Lots of love from the best Sri Lanka team ever (aka Charlie, lily, Esha. Eliza, Kate, Hamish, Ellie and Jess)
Ps. Sorry for the delay on the blog posts, we will try and get them uploaded asap xxxx
