Weydon T2 – Drum and Dance Workshop and Performance

Partner Schools Worldwide > Weydon and Dwabor JHS > Weydon T2 – Drum and Dance Workshop and Performance

Today the cook team woke up at 5:40 to make some lovely pancakes for the rest of the team. After breakfast we went straight over to the murals to finish the projects on our last full day at Ayensudo. Then we went to church, the service was spoken in Mfantse so no one knew what was happening but at the end they made us dance in front of the whole church and introduce ourselves which was fun and embarrassing! Then we came back to the school to finish painting the last mural which put us all in a good mood-we never want to hold a paint brush again! Our final task was to put our handprints along with our buddies on the Weydon partnership tree. It was a lovely experience to see the tree growing. Due to us all being so tired, most of us fell asleep but when we woke up everything looked good and then the drummers came and we did a drumming workshop which was fun followed by a dance class which was also fun. For dinner we had a buffet of all the traditional Ghanaian foods and then the company came back and put on an impressive performance that included eating fire, dancing and some acrobats. After that, an emotional send off took place around the campfire where us and the buddies exchanged presents, both sides were very grateful and then we gave and received presents around a fire and then enjoyed our last night in Ayensudo.
