Elmina Catholic Boys School & St. John’s Plessington College

Partner Schools Worldwide > St John Plessington School and Elmina Catholic Boys > Elmina Catholic Boys School & St. John’s Plessington College

DAY 1 – TUESDAY, 7TH JULY 2015
Our first day in Africa began in Accra and we were up early ready to dress to Elmina, we were shown our accommodation and we headed to our Partner School. Here, we met our buddies and were shown around the School. After this, our buddies continued to show us around Elmina. We were lucky enough to witness the Edina Bakatue Festival, where we continued to be fascinated for the remaining afternoon.

DAY 2 – WEDNESDAY, 8TH JULY 2015
After having a night rest, we were up and out at our Partner School by 8am. After we arrived, the boys performed a fantastic welcoming ceremony which we were all honoured to watch. We were properly introduced to the boys, teachers and School and the levels of excitement were overwhelming. Everyone then got stuck right into the project by sanding desks, shelves and chairs. It was a long process but with the help of everyone, it was a huge success and all of the enthusiasm from everyone made it hugely fun.
