DAY 1: SUNDAY, JULY 5, 2015
It was an early morning but we were ready to lead off on adventure for the next couple of weeks. We arrived at school and waited to be transported to the airport. After saying our heartfelt goodbyes and a group picture we were finally leaving. We waved for the last time on the coach as we saw our families leave. After a long delay at the Manchester Airport due to a heart attack on the plane we eventually boarded. The flight was short but bumpy, very bumpy. It put some in bad moods but we still had to keep morale high. We were nearly there. Almost boarding the plane to Accra. We set off on the long flight to Accra, where we would be staying for the night. After a tiring flight, we arrived at Accra where we were faced with sweltering heat. We were exhausted but we had to wait to get to the hotel. Finally we arrived, we had a snack and a drink and we went to sleep.

DAY 2: MONDAY,JULY 6, 2015
We woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed ready to head off on our way to Kwahu Tafo to see our homes for the next couple of weeks. It was a long and bumpy journey but it was made well worth the wait as when we arrived the welcome was spectacular. There was singing, dancing and a band and each of our buddies held up a sign with our names and bunch of handpicked flowers and we were greeted by a bright smile of hug. We then went on to parade through the village singing, dancing, and talling. The rain was pouring down but that didn’t stop our excitement. We settled down and then went to visit the chief to get permission to stay in Tafo. After a long and tiring day we settled down in our tents after a filling corned beef.
