Lord Wandsworth – Egyeikrom JHS Students Visit

Partner Schools Worldwide > Lord Wandsworth and Egyeikrom > Lord Wandsworth – Egyeikrom JHS Students Visit

Day 1
We are all sitting in our lounge area waiting for lunch after visiting the school.
After our 2 plane journeys we arrived in Accra and found a wagon truck-type waiting for us outside. Whilst being swarmed by helpful Ghanaians, we climbed aboard and had our first taste of sachet -water, which is a little strange! We drove to our guesthouse in Accra for our first nights sleep. The sleep consisted of heat humidity crying babies and dogs but we got ready the next morning for our to Egyeikrom, we stopped for breakfast and then at the Partner Ghana Office and picked up our food for the week.

Day 2
We arrived at our accommodation unaware of our new celebrity starts when we took a walk around the village. All the locals are vey friendly and we have never high-fived so many people in one day. The boys were challenged to a football match and by the looks at things, they need some extra training!
We had Red Red for dinner which is a bit like a curry with beens, and also tasted fried plantain. We spent about 3hours playing cards and games and were in bed by 9pm.

Day 3
At 7am, wake up before breakfast made us ready for the welcome party the school had planned with dancing and songs. We exchanged gifts with our buddies and Rob’s science putty went down a treat! Georgie has made a lot of new friends, Toby has been selected for Ghana’s U18 football. Dainton has lifted up at at least 500 kids, Nick’s been teaching Digby and Freddie is being teaching table tennis. Alice should be head Chef of the Household, Josh can carry 7 kids at once and Pete has become a babysitter, Oli has a really cute handshake with his buddy and Sadiya is sleeping in a room with a massive spider! Robbo has entertained us from minute-1 with his funny pack and hilarious comments, he has also tried Fufu! All are well and enjoying the trip so far.
