Friday 9th
We woke up at about 6:30 and began to prepare for our project work that we would be doing today. 5 of the ‘arty’ people stayed up at the kindergarten painting murals whilst the rest of the team made their way down to the chiefs palace to finish painting the wood and look around the area for where the plaster needed to be fixed, as well as where the murals should be painted. It was a beautiful day, very hot and sunny so plenty of water and fruit breaks were necessary! We spent some time with the kids, painting faces and playing before doing a ‘well run’ which proved to be a lot more challenging for us than the very adept Ghanaians that balanced the water on their heads with humiliating ease. We then all had bucket showers and sat around the campfire in the evening celebrating Elizabeth’s (a Ghanaian buddy) Birthday. She was very excited to get a present from Livi, her previous Buddy.
Ellie: Having an amazing time and hope all is well! The squash supply is already running low. Love you xx
