DAY 10-Tuesday 31st July 2018
About half of us started off the day with Bibbsy coming round to wake us up very cheerfully , but thanks to her as we were leaving for 8. We left for Dwabor and arrived about 40 minutes later at the school and community, and were welcomed by school children and Issac, the link teacher. He quickly showed us what previous Weydon students had made/painted and then we moved on to the Cocoa farm tour. He told us how they went from plant to chocolate, and that a farmer can get 500 cedis for 100kg of the final product. James then took us through some first aid scenarios and explained (very well) to all Ghanaian students. After, we made our way to the sports field, split the kindergarden kids into groups, and set up our activities including: a beat the keeper penalty shootout, an over and under race, mini bowling, and finishing with a relay, team against team. It all went very successfully, and then we made our way back to Ayensudu for toasted cheese sandwiches. We then read to our buddies for an hour, and some of us had a trip into town while others did the finishing touches of painting. Dinner was delicious and right now most of us are just chilling, listening to music and talking. Been a good day, tomorrow is our last in Ayensudu and I think we’re all looking forward to the celebration.
