Weydon arrives in Dwabor – Team 3

Partner Schools Worldwide > Weydon and Dwabor JHS > Weydon arrives in Dwabor – Team 3

Day 2 – Saturday 01 / 04 / 17

We started the day at 6 o’ clock in preparation for the 5 hour journey that lay ahead. We were all treated to breakfast which consisted of omelettes, toast and tea / coffee. We set off with the idea that the trip would be 4 hours, however it turned out to be 6 and a half hours on a sweaty bus. We arrived in Ayensudo where we were greeted by screaming children, which came as a surprise. After dropping the Ayensudo team off and a quick tuna sandwich, we set of to Dwabor along an extremely bumpy road ( for 20 minutes). However, when we arrived we realised it had been worth it. With children swarming around the bus and climbing on us, the thought of almost two days traveling left our minds. We firstly set up our tents and then after a quick shower and times to unpack we had an amazing rice dinner.

Overall, yesterday was unexpected. We all went to bed at 7:45 thinking it was a lot later. At around 9:00, 20 children cane running up wanting to play, the same thing happened at 10:00 after they finally accepted the fact that we were asleep.
