Friday
We had an early start and went to the school. We painted the skirting boards which our buddies had attempted but we hd to fix. We painted the floor and the fans were put up in the library. It is looking good! we continued with the mural even though Molly was very concise about her waves. In the afternoon we had a drum and dance workshop. The dancers were energetic and got us all involved; we were taught a drum beat and song which we had to perform to the children. They taught us ‘meadoooow’ which means ‘love God’.
It was a good day and we are excited to gain more experiences in the next two weeks.
Saturday
Scheduled for saturday was the beach, we were all pumped and ready and jumped straight on that bus but five minutes away from the beach it started to ****** rain so we spent the next 20mins on a wet beach, however that didn’t stop us from running straight into the sea! The clouds parted and left us with the sun which we loved. We saw some local fishermen pulling in their recent catch. After lunch we all bought chips with proper ketchup which instantly reminded us of home.
After arriving back at the hostel, picking up the seamstress en route we tried on our outfits and made alterations. We then all settled down for group game night including mafia and animals which lasted until 11pm. We found that we loved the game mafia and we will potentially play it again at any possible opportunity!
