After sleeping outside for the night in our camp beds and mosquito tents by the campfire, we were up and ready to go to the beach. When we arrived, we were greeted by a beautiful sight of a vast beach with clear sea, which we immediately rushed into. We quickly found a game of trying to stay standing on a large, flat rock while the waves braked around us.

We stayed at the beach for around three hours, where most of us stayed in the sea the whole time, while some of us sunbathed. When we got back in the coach, we drove back to Janoda and quickly ate lunch and set up for our project for our buddies – first aid and painting bags with our buddies. Although we were tight for time, everyone enjoyed it and it was a good opportunity for us to bond with our buddies.

Then we changed into our white clothes and travelled with our buddies to the temple. We had to walk barefoot around so although it was a bit painful it was a great experience. We burned incense and placed flowers in front of the statues and then went and were given chanting thread bracelets by the chief monk.

After dropping the buddies off back at their school, we travelled to the wood carvers to watch an elephant being carved out of teak wood. Although it took a long time, it was amazing to see how skilful the man was and how a block of wood could be turned into such a detailed statue. We then had the chance to buy miscellaneous carved animals in the souvenir shop.

We are going to get an early night tonight as we are all very tired!
