Teenagers learn about the Sustainable Development Goals.

Partner Schools Worldwide > Sir William Perkins School and Bantuma JHS > Teenagers learn about the Sustainable Development Goals.

Day 3- Friday, 18th October 2019.

Group 1

Soon after lunch we split into our groups to begin our workshops. As group 1 we looked into the quality of education and the development of it in varying countries. We began with an education quiz, which included 20 true or false questions based on education around the word, however the highest score was a grand total of 14/20. We then went on to discover the true meaning of education and came to the conclusion of it being ‘the process of acquiring knowledge and skills and developing moral values’. This was quickly followed by being hurried off to another classroom in Bantuma school to evaluate how the environment effects the learning. We then visited another school run by the British Charity Sabre. This included paintings and learning aids on the wall and other resources available to the children. We said bye to our buddies and drove in the Safari bus back to the stumble inn. We all had showers before the heavens opened and drenched us all. Before jumping into bed we were pleasantly surprised by the hole in our roof, with a crashing thunderstorm it was a choice of two options; move rooms or get a bucket. We decided the bucket would be the easiest option however we will still be in for an exciting and long rainy night.
