Friday 19th July
Having woken up to the wonderful aroma of Nana’s pancakes, we set off for Essaman United Junior Highschool. Refreshed and ready to go, we embarked on completing the final project, which involved painting second coats and levelling the surrounding ground. By lunch we had already finished, so we briefly headed to Stumble Inn for a shower before returning to the school, sadly for the last time, to attend the handling over ceremony. Here, we handed over the completed project. It was really rewarding to see the pupils’ eagerness to play on the monkey bars as soon as Frankie and Lauren had cut the ribbon. Overall, the project was an exciting experience for both schools, leaving everyone feeling satisfied and accomplished. Both projects have brought some truly unique opportunities which we have been glad to partake in and will remember dearly, with some members of the group already planning their return to Ghana in the following years.
