What’s up squad, today we had a lie in (well, a lie in for Sri Lanka) because we split into two groups and made the elephants’ breakfast- vitamin balls and fruit bowls and we fed them to the elephants, which was still as cool as yesterday. We ran out of time feeding them as breakfast was ready (I had a banana-Ellie).

After breakfast we went on to everyone’s fave activity, cleaning the beds; to our joy half of them were clean so we did practically no work today (a couple of us had a water fight at the tap). We then finished feeding the elephants and moved on to washing them; that was the coolest thing but my elephant liked to whip us with her tail which I did not appreciate. Today was a very special washing as the elephants also washed us, so some got on their backs and others didn’t and the elephant spayed us with water with their trunks.

We then had lunch (best meal yet in my opinion). After lunch we chilled for a bit and got gifts for our families and then did some new year games (if you didn’t know today is New Year’s Day here). They were all really cool- my fave was the tug of war against an elephant and also the Weydon team beat the MEF staff which had a security guard and also the girls beat the boys so I think that is proof girls are better. (Also happy b’day Tilly’s brother Alex)We had some time to ourselves before dinner. We are now spending our time packing, feeling sad to leave but REALLY excited to see our families.

See you all soon, signing out.

Ellie and Orla xxxx
