Day 14. Friday, 20th July 2018.
Breakfast was at 7 this morning which was scrambled eggs, bread and beans. As usual, we set off for the SDA school to complete the final leg of our project work. Year 12s tackled completing the canteen, while others finished off painting the educational designs on the classroom walls. The remainder of the group said hearty goodbyes to the friends they had made at the SDA school.
We strolled home to the smell of freshly cooked pasta and our favourite red sauce. At 2, we heard voices and laughter as our buddies joined us at the hotel to take us on a track through the town, across a stream and down a rocky path to the waterfall. Most of the group ventured into the plunge pool (shout out to Mr Peacocke for the Geography knowledge). With the Ghanaians showing us the ropes, Joe braved the refreshing water first, followed by the rest of the group.
The group participated in a rendition of Happy Birthday to celebrate my (Hannah’s) 15 years on Earth. We trudged back in wet clothes to cold showers followed by rice, sausages and a red sauce which didn’t compare to the red sauce that had tingled our taste buds earlier in the day.
We ended the day with the 4th cake of the trip and a peculiar green drink to further appreciate Hannah’s 15 years.
Can’t wait to see you all,
Hannah and Natasha xx
