Day 8-12th July 2018
The day started with an unfortunate turn due to the lack of a shower because of flooding in the toilet. However this didn’t stall us as we started work an hour early at 7 and cleaned and hosed the classrooms with help from the buddies. At 10 two minibuses came and we shared a ride with our buddies filled with numerous card games. When we arrived at the Kakum rain forest we embarked on a canopy adventure, which allowed us to walk along rope bridges between trees roughly 60m off the floor. After the treacherous trail, we all surfed around the shops, where Pinky and Tom Crook befriending a monkey. On the way back we stopped at a crocodile hotel where we had a tour around the lake, spying on crocodiles. Eventually the guide managed to lure one to the side of the lake and fed it. After this, the crocodile started growling and threw it’s tail out of the water, this is when we realised the crock was about 7ft long. Then we drove back to camp and enjoyed a peaceful end to the day.
