When you visit the buddy’s homes you really must make sure you go with an empty tummy and be prepared to eat! I thought we would each just visit our individual buddies’ homes but we visited all of them which was a wonderful experience in its self. We really did one thing today. Eat. Eat and eat a bit more. We ate at ten separate homes which were all very different, and it was clearly evident that some families had a bit more money than others by the size of their home and the facilities, all of which were limited when compared to our own homes. Each family made a selection of food some the same as others, as we all visited the families of our buddies, we gave them our presents, and received traditional gifts from them including pictures and shell ornaments. They were all really kind and hospitable, which was great, and they kept offering us food, even when we had already eaten so much! The food was delicious though, and it was a really fun day. We were literally doing that from dawn to dusk, obviously we didn’t need to have any supper when we arrived back in the evening.
