Kakum Visit, Hans cottage

Partner Schools Worldwide > Weydon and Dwabor JHS > Kakum Visit, Hans cottage

Day 10: 30/7/17

This morning we woke normal time to shower and get ready for an amazing day ahead. After a chilled couple of days based in Dwabor, we were all excited for what was to come today and oh my goodness it didn’t disappoint. We set off in the minibuses at around 8:15am and arrived at Kakum National Park 370 km square of animal conservation reserve and home to the canopy walkway) just over an hour later, Once there, we set off jungle with our buddies, uphill along a rocky path into the trees. Soon we wre walking quite literally through the canopies, across a ropey bridge which thankfully held netting beneath it! It was honestly such an amazing experience, with our height we had a crazy view across the trees and the jungle terrain that surriunded us. We then had lunch in the picnic area at the National Park and briefly saw the Ayesudo team before setting of again, this time to Hanscottage. After a short drink break and chill time amongst the birds and ornate fountains, we headed to Kosa Beach Resort which i think we all agree was a perfect way to end an incredible day of activity, and the photos prove it. We enjoyed a few relaxing hours in the sea and on a very Malibu looking beach, surrounded by sand, palm trees, fresh watermelon that we bought enroute and a stunning sunset. We then returned home, arriving here at around 7:00pm, ate dinner and headed to bed. Best day so far;

Beth P
